I am Sophy from 2002. It’s my honour to stand before you to give you a speech about ‘The role of extracurricular activities in student achievement’.
ECA as “all activities beyond‘the classroom’,such as involvement in school clubs and societies, paid and voluntary employment, family commitments, religious activities .”
In our school, we have ECA twice a week,Monday and Wednesday. At the beginning of each term, our school provides several clubs that we can choose, such as football club, badminton club, modal making club and so on.Participating in these clubs can improve academic performance, physical and emotional development.
The participation of international school students in extracurricular activities can not only promote the all-round development of students, but also cultivate students'interests and hobbies, stimulate their potential, and improve their horizons. When participating in extracurricular activities, children can show their Passion, Dedication,Growth and Impact. Will have a huge impact on the students' admission and future development. From the perspective of personal ability cultivation, extracurricular activities are a supplement and extension of the classroom.By participating in extracurricular activities, students can continuously discover their interests, hobbies and potential, broaden their knowledge and vision, and at the same time, they will get to know more like-minded friends. In the long-term study of extracurricular activities, students' organizational ability, coordination ability, learning ability and communication ability have been fully exercised. These abilities will help students face the future overseas college life alone, and even help students better enter the society.
In addition to academic benefits, extracurricular activities can also provide students with important opportunities for social and emotional development. Through participation in sports teams or clubs, students can build friendships, learn teamwork skills, and develop a sense of belonging and community. This can be especially valuable for students who may struggle to find a sense of connection or belonging in the classroom.
This is the end of my speech, thank you.
